🦠 BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY 🔬
🧫 Background
We, mBioWorks Copenhagen, are a microbiome startup located in Symbion, Copenhagen. mBioWorks was founded in 2022 by a former associate professor of the University of Copenhagen. We are dedicated to unlocking the power of microbes with the latest genomics technologies. AskMicrobe was an idea initially proposed in June 2023 to facilitate the retrieval of microbe-related knowledge from the ever-growing public literature databases. We wanted to simply "chat" with the latest microbial science. With the help of AskMicrobe, our service team is not limited to each one's narrow field of expertise, allowing us to provide better service and professional suggestions to our customers, who are mostly working microbiologists.
The very first version of AskMicrobe was based on GPT-turbo-3.5 and a local retrieval augmented generation (RAG) system. Its capabilities were quite limited, often generating plausible but completely nonsensical answers. For information retrieval and summarization, it worked reasonably well. Over time, the large language models, represented by OpenAI's GPT series, evolved rapidly and became unbelievably powerful. When GPT-4 was combined with Langchain's RAG technology, a new, powerful version of AskMicrobe was born, surprising everyone with its impressive quality and accuracy of answers. We think it is time to share it with the broader microbiology community. We hope every microbe lover can benefit from using AskMicrobe, either by simplifying the knowledge retrieval process, getting inspiration from AI, or just having fun chatting with a virtual microbiology expert.
🤝 Business Potential
We are open to business collaborations to further explore the potential of AskMicrobe. We can tailor the chatbot for specific applications. For instance, we can set up dedicated accounts for users who need full protection of privacy when working with unpublished data or manuscripts. We can also clone AskMicrobe for other domains of science. Additionally, we can undertake outsourcing consultancy projects that require in-depth analysis of current knowledge in a specific subdomain of microbiology. Moreover, we can offer training courses on how to use AI in microbiology. Any idea is welcome to share with us. We are passionate about anything related to microbes. Let us together unlock the power of microbes.
